From retail to rhythm to business acumen
My journey began years ago as a sales representative in retail, all while pursuing my passion for music, playing bass and guitar in various bands. A pivotal moment arrived when I explored the hearing aid business. After a free hearing test and consultation, I was captivated. The intricate connection between the ear's cochlea and playing an instrument resonated deeply with my musical background. I became licensed in Oregon, Washington and California, managing offices in each state for 16 years.
Hands-on experience, real-world solutions
In 2014, I acquired a Miracle-Ear franchise, recognized as a top medical-related franchise in the U.S. This venture immersed me in every facet of small business operation: bookkeeping, payroll, HR, sales and licensing training, advertising, customer service, and outreach programs. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, California’s stay-at-home order significantly impacted my customer base, leading to a 90% drop in cash flow and ultimately the closure of my four offices.
Through it all, bookkeeping was the part I enjoyed most. It provided a clear view of how every activity influenced the bottom line, enabling informed decisions for growth. Now, I leverage this extensive experience to help small businesses develop robust financial systems and reports, guiding them toward their goals with confidence.
